Our Vision

Curtis Joe Walker

How are you today?

I'm doing good. It was a nice weekend.

What have you done so far, what are your plans after the interview?

I woke up and smoked some weed, and then cleaned my porch off and worked in my back yard for a little while. I’ll probaby do some more of that and clean my house too.

Where are you from originally, do you still live there?

I’m a 3rd generation Las Vegan and every time I have attempted to leave, I have met with failure. I have an appreciation for the ease of life and the affordability here.

What are you most passionate about?

I used to think it was photography. It is photograpy, but it’s really more than that. It’s freedom of expression, and more than that, it’s about exploring the rights and freedoms we have as Nevadans and Americans.

Do you have animals?

Two little doggies you can check out on @echochihuahua and my Mojave Desert Tortoise, Turd Ferguson.

Now for the juicy parts…

How long have you been a photographer?

I took my first photography class in 1998. So, 20 years-ish since my first 35mm roll.

How did you get into the industry and how old were you?

I upgraded my lights and bought a DSLR in 2006 when the housing market was good. One of my tech support clients needed photos of model homes. I got them to pay for all my gear with the gig. Right before this, I’d also worked SEMA. That was my first commercial photo gig. I reached out to them, and it just worked out because I was local and inexpensive to add onto the roster.

What attracted you to the adult industry?

The fantasy of the adult industry attracted me to it. This idea that people would make money being beautiful and sport fucking each other. AVN is an annual fest that I first went to in 2000 or so. I took my girlfriend and she got her nipple pinched by Ron Jeremy and Nicole Bass was there to pick her up. Bridget the Midget was the ice breaker for my GF who was sort of not that interested in being there. I love how friendly and approachable adult talent is.

What are your goals?

To be happy every day and to bring joy to others.

Do you have any favorite shoots? If not, something you really want to do but haven’t done yet?

I have so many favorite shoots! I am really into making weird double exposed polaroids and shooting film. I like to make sexy photos that make people uncomfortable, ultimately. My favorite thing is being contacted by magazines to shoot something for them. Hustler even called me up one day and I wound up on Gigalos and Talk Soup one day.

Have you had any setbacks some  down the road? Do you have any advice for us in how to avoid these issues, or what you’ve learned from these set backs?

Most setbacks are financial or as a result of personal limitations. I would advise against taking on too much at once. Build a solid foundation for income and add gravy onto the bread and butter. I have been eating gravy for 7 years, and it sucks. On the other hand, I have a perfect life that I can’t imagine how to improve, aside from financial success. Money comes when I need it. I guess my advice is, do what you love and remember that you’re not getting paid enough to have a bad time. Nobody cares about your success more than you.

What is your guilty pleasure Tv show right now?

Big Bang Theory. Also, a bunch of youtube stuff on this new TBD network.

If you could change one thing about the industry(adult or art)…what would it be?

I don’t know. Exploitation bugs me. I like how old porn was made by horny people who loved to fuck and by people who knew about cinematography. It’s cheesy and raw, but it’s also pure in a way. The same with art, I suppose. It’s can be difficult to see where the love shines through in the final product a lot of the time. A lot of art, music, fashion and porn is just junk food that appeals to addictive impulses or lizard brain responses. Self exploration and expression is what attracts me to art and erotica.
